Every once in a while I think back to my undergraduate days…
One of my favourite memories was meeting my wife Dr. Rachelle…
So… just to put rumours to rest we DID in fact meet at a bar… but it was through mutual friends so please don’t let any ‘less than wholesome’ thoughts enter through your mind.
One thing that was a challenge for Dr. Rachelle was school… she is very bright, but didn’t like learning what was taught...
Which was a problem because she had a burning passion to become a Chiropractor… and in order to do that you need to have good marks.
I remember a specific example Dr. Rachelle told me about… on her first biology exam of first year she scored a 22%… I actually think one of her friends told her that ‘a monkey, filling out the scan-tron at random, would have scored better.' We laugh about it now, but I’m positive that at the time it was not funny.
However, one thing that Rachelle never did… and still never does is complain…
The one thing I have never heard from her mouth EVER is… “My Life is NOT FAIR.”
She just dealt with it…
She dealt with it to get into Chiropractic college… she had to negotiate a 1% increase of her chemistry mark to make sure it was high enough...
She dealt with it during the times I would be resting and watching TV and she would still be grinding… trying to understand...
She dealt with it when we wrote our board exams…
She would do the work, she would struggle… and in the end she would succeed.
I’m telling you this because I know that you have your own challenges… we all do.
However, complaining that life is not fair will not help you meet your goals.
If your goals are really worth meeting you will put your head down and keep grinding… and find a way.

P.S. Dr. Rachelle is probably going to kill me for sharing part of her story… but it needs to be told and she is too humble to tell it.
