This is what Mom really wants for Mother's Day.
Here’s a hint… it’s not flowers or jewelry.
I know that you want to treat the Mothers in your life on their special day to something over the top, something fancy, something expensive...
But what Moms really want is something much simpler.
This survey found that the majority of Moms just want a nice meal prepared for them.
No grocery shopping, no prep, no cooking, no clean up. Just a meal enjoyed together with her family.
So I want to walk you through how you can give Mom something she will really love and appreciate this Mother’s Day.
- Start by letting her sleep in. Aside from having to wake to breastfeed, Dad you’re on diaper duty and nightmare patrol tonight.
- Next, make her a yummy By Design breakfast. Start with our green smoothie and follow it up with fresh b’eggs (bacon and egg “cupcakes”) and grain-free pumpkin spiced waffles.
- Now get outside as a family for some Vitamin N and playtime. If the weather is nice, go for a hike, a bike ride or organize a game of soccer in the backyard. If it’s cold or rainy outside snuggle up on the porch with a big cozy blanket and read with Mom or throw on rain jackets and boots to jump in the puddles.
- Now that it’s lunchtime, create a picnic for Mom. My favourite picnic foods are barbecued sausages with watermelon relish and fresh fruit and raw veggies. If your yard is big enough to accommodate a picnic, great! If not, find a park, field, really anywhere with green space, and grab a blanket, your food and lots of water.
- Next, let Mom take a nap. Yes, uninterrupted time to sleep, rest her eyes or just stare at the ceiling! The rest of the family is in charge of clean up, laundry and any chores that need to get done that day. Mom’s only job is to rest, even if it’s only for a few minutes, because we all know how rare it is for Mom’s to take guilt-free time to herself.
- Last, prep a seemingly fancy but in reality super simple dinner for Mom. She will be blown away with how gourmet this meal tastes. Start with By Design seafood “pasta” and finish with a simple chocolate fondue.
There you have it… a complete plan for that special Mom if your life. This meal plan gives Mom exactly what she wants, delicious food prepped for her and quality time with the people she loves most.
