Can a human survive without food?
What about water?
What do you think?
Well this week, we are being told that a human can, 'in fact’, survive with out food or water in this story about an Indian man who went not only 7 days without food, but 70 years…
The worst part about this article is…
That it is being taken seriously.
A human body CANNOT survive without food or water. That is fact.
And I care enough about you to tell you to your face and in writing not to take these ideas seriously. They are false and the claims are harmful because you are probably thinking… “Well, maybe it’s true.”
It’s not.
There are 2 very important concepts that are being violated by this ‘sort of thing’ that need to be talked about…
1) Requirements
This is a simple conversation. Your body (and everyone’s body) has requirements, one of which is nutrients. If you don’t get nutrients you die. Imagine telling the survivors of a famin that killed half their family that all they had to do was meditate and practice yoga and they could have gotten all the nutrients they needed.
2) That reality exists
You’ve heard us talk about this time and time again. This is a clear example of trying to completely wipe away facts and replace them with wishes. Of course it would be great if we could ‘teach’ the mind to go without food. That would save the lives of millions of starving children and people all around the world. But the reality is that it is not true… you need to eat and drink to live.
There are actually many laws of logic, reason and science being broken in the above claim but to keep things simple I kept it to 2.
If it sounds like I’m writing this with a upset tone; it’s because I am!
This information is harmful, misleading and leads to nothing but the destruction of life.
Oh and please read correctly.
I’m not claiming in any regard that meditation, yoga or any of the other practices talked about in the above article are harmful or misleading. I have seen people’s lives transformed by both yoga and meditation. I think both are wonderful and very beneficial to the human body and mind, however, they are not an equivalent to food. Only food can be food.
