Today, we're talking about one of the most common myths that I hear as a chiropractor and that's once you go to a chiropractor, you'll have to go forever.
Now, of course I'm glad people don't say that about bathing, about exercise, about nutrition, or even about brushing your teeth, but I think it's worthy of a conversation that goes deeper.
You see, chiropractic is not a requirement by the body. You don't need chiropractic.
But what you do need, what every single human being requires is proper communication between the brain, the body, the organ systems and back through the nervous system to the brain. So, this brain body connection has to be addressed, it has to be maintained and a chiropractor is the person who does that.
That's the goal and the role of chiropractic, is to address this brain-body connection in all human beings, whether you're sick or well, whether you have a symptom or no symptom, whether you're a brand new child or whether you're 90 year old.
So, chiropractic is not something you require. It's a lifestyle choice. What you're choosing is to maintain the integrity of your spine and nervous system.
Now, what you cannot choose is to be unaffected by nerve system interference. So, you can't choose to have no consequences by not being under chiropractic care.
Of course, there's nobody making you come to the chiropractor, there's nobody holding a gun to your head, but the same can be said for exercise, for eating by design, for having a purpose.
Remember, the goal in living an extraordinary life is identifying what your body requires and taking the action steps and self-responsibility to live the life that you deserve.
Now it's your turn. Have you ever heard someone say that once you go to a chiropractor you have to go forever? What other things have you heard about chiropractic? Please let us know what you think below.
